Gistable Terms of Service (TOS)

1. Object and Validity of these TOS

Welcome to Gistable's Terms of Service (the “TOS”). These TOS define the legal framework foryour use of Gistable's services, ensuring you understand your rights and ours before using theGistable website or Services.Please note that subscriptions to our services for a specific term (the “Initial Term”) mayautomatically renew for additional periods of the same duration unless canceled according toSection 10 below.

Gistable operates a platform for mobile reading and listening on the internet portals http://www.gistable.com and other websites, as well as on mobile applications (a.k.a. Apps, hereinafterreferred to as “Platform”). Gistable's authors condense key insights from non-fiction books andother content into a concise format. This allows you to discover new Gists and grasp their essencethrough your computer or mobile device. Additionally, you can purchase content on the Platform fordownload into your Gistable account library.

Using the Platform is subject to these TOS, in the version valid at the time of registration, order, oras amended according to Section 14. Gistable does not accept any deviating general terms andconditions unless agreed upon in writing.

These TOS, along with specific information provided during registration (see Section 3), whenordering a paid subscription (Section 4), and/or other individual content (see Section 6), constitutethe complete user contract. This information is saved by Gistable and is accessible in your useraccount.By registering, purchasing a paid subscription, or individual content pieces, you accept the validityand applicability of these TOS.

These TOS also apply, with exceptions explained in each case, if your Gistable account is grantedby your employer (a "B2B License").

2. Gistable’s Services and Rights

Gistable provides key insights from scientific papers and studies, articles, and other content (the"Platform Content"), allowing you to grasp their essence quickly. Additionally, Gistable offers apersonal profile where you can store your preferred platform content, text markers, and organizecontent into categories and playlists. Subject to availability, you can purchase additional individualcontent on the Platform.

The extent of Platform Content and usage options (the "License") depend on your chosen accounttype. There are distinctions between a free account (see Section 3), a paid subscription (see Section4), a free trial (see Section 5), and individual content purchases (see Section 6). The license durationis limited to the respective subscription's validity period. Purchased individual content remainsavailable in your account indefinitely (subject to Section 6).

The rights to Gistable's service and distributed content belong solely to Gistable and/or its licensors.Our Platform Content is typically protected by copyrights and may not be redistributed. TheGistable software applications and Platform Content are licensed for contractual use. We grant youa non-exclusive (simple), time-limited right to personal use of the Gistable service and its contents.When using our Services, you must adhere to our Acceptable Use Policy.

All Gistable trademarks, trade names, logos, domain names, and other distinctive features are thesole property of Gistable. The license does not grant you any right to use these features forcommercial or non-commercial purposes.

3. Registering with Gistable

To use Gistable’s services, registration is required. Individuals over 18 can register. Minors aged 14or older may register with consent from their legal representatives. Gistable reserves the right torequest proof of identity, legal age, or legal representative consent.

Registration is free of charge (“Basic Account”) and does not obligate you to purchase a paidsubscription. By registering, you enter an agreement with Gistable for limited, free use of the Platform. If your Gistable Account is granted by your employer, registering via the employerprovided option grants immediate access to all content covered by the employer's contract.

You can register using your email address and chosen password or through a single sign-on service(e.g., Facebook login). Registration is available via our website or after downloading our iOS orAndroid apps.

All information required for registration must be complete, accurate, and kept up-to-date. You aresolely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. The Gistable user account isfor your personal use only. Any unauthorized use or suspicion of such should be reported toGistable immediately.
